The Excellence of Italian Craftsmanship in the Venice Arsenale October 3rd-6th

Press Release 28th Aug 2024: The Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano is an event that celebrates the elegance and refinement of ancient crafts, which is also ready to welcome the enthusiasm and creativity of young artisans who represent the future of manual skills, know-how and art in Italy.

The Arsenale di Venezia, in particular, the historical area of the Tese, will once again be the heart of the second edition of the exhibition and fair from October 3rd to the 6th.

An exciting and evocative journey through a variety of cultural expressions, presenting a wide range of crafts – from fine fabrics to ceramics, from the goldsmith tradition to blown glass, as well as furniture, design objects and much more – that have always been synonymous with Made in Italy throughout the world.

A showcase in 7.000 sqm that highlights what lies behind the work of the artisans and the passion and care that goes into each object.

Among the excellent exhibits at the Arsenale, space will also be given to traditional Venetian craftsmanship. The art of glass pearls, and lace making, not to mention the workshops of ceramists and mosaicists, eyewear, jewellery, wood restoration and ceramics, artistic print shops, graphic and silkscreen printing studios, glassworks, textile ateliers and manufacturers, bookbinders, as well as the Carnival with its precious tailor-made costumes and the essential Venetian masks made of the authentic papier-mâché.

There will also be approx. 70 live demonstrations of techniques and processes at the various stands – from mosaics to ceramics, from tapestry to violinmaking, from goldsmithing to woodcarving, from blown glass to lace making – that will capture the interest of the public, who will be fascinated by the master artisans as they create shapes of extraordinary beauty.

A journey from north to south, a meeting between tradition and innovation, a tribute to the past and a glimpse of the future of Italian craftsmanship.
