Amber Fort is most impressive Jaipur tourist attraction and must be seen.
Jaipur tourist places to see when you have one day or two day time limit
I visited Jaipur recently in the month of March for 3 days and following are helpful tips and experiences.
If you have only one day to visit Jaipur don’t look anywhere except AMBER FORT. I can say with certainty that your visit to Jaipur is not complete until you see Amber fort and not only from the outside but do purchase entry ticket from office inside and do visit inside area as it really beautiful and different and reflect the luxurious life of ancients kings/rulers of Jaipur.
POINT to Note for Amber Fort visit: Visit to Amber fort itself will take around 3 to 4 hours and bit tiring too as there are many things to see and long walk.
Also outside the fort and as well inside you might come across many tour guides (speaking different language from English to French to German) however I find many of them pushy, rude as I saw them badly behaving with other tourists.
When you visit without tour guide you have liberty to move at your own pace without somebody constantly telling you how many minutes you have to stay at each spot besides you might find them pushy for selling goods from some shops inside the fort where there commission is fixed.
Also note Jaipur from 1st April onwards become very very hot so ideally best to visit before say 10th March.
In Amber Fort there is option to go up via elephant ride although I went via walking upstairs and that was also fun.
Inside Amber fort just before exit there is also a coffee and snacks shop quite decent (atleast seem hygenic :-).
In Jaipur city there are many touristic places listed to see, however, to be honest I find AMBER FORT was better than everything else together and was best option to see.
When you will be going from the Jaipur city to Amber fort you will find midway there is way to Nahargarh Fort. It is listed as main tourist destination but somehow I didn’t find anything really worth there except Jaipur city view from the top of fort.
Also I saw some of the tourist trying to visit Nahargarh Fort via foot. I would say it is very very long distance as even via car it took us around 20 minutes besides dangerous as roads are very narrow and many blind turns in addition to long isolated stretch.
It is best to visit Nahargarh fort in a group, just mentioning from the safety point of view.
Jaipur Jal Mahal:
Jal Mahal is another famous tourist attraction of Jaipur, however, unfortunately you can only see it from the long distance ie from the main road and can’t see it from inside as visitors not allowed so technically there is nothing to see here 🙂

If you have more time to spend in Jaipur you can add Hawa Mahal in your tourist list to see but note that it closes down after around 5Pm.

If you have evening at your disposal and looking for really cool place in Jaipur to eat, I would suggest one roof top coffee/restaurant just opposite to Hawa Mahal across the street.
This is perhaps the best place I could figure out on the roof and even in the hot day, evening on this roof top was amazing with nice breeze,great ambience and surprisingly prices were not very high as coffee was under INR 200 only.
There are actually 2 or 3 roof top restaurants just opposite Hawa Mahal in the same building however stairs are quite steep.

In addition to above there was government coffee shop was recommended and it turns out to be ok ok as it was for theatre artist community and bit far away from the city but if you are visiting Albert Museum there than perhaps near around that area.
